About Dapsco
DAPSCO is a 35 year old company that presently specializes in the design, sales and installation of Access Floors and related services.
Dapsco - Access Flooring

As our "retro" logo indicates, DAPSCO has been around for a long time serving those who make their living with computers. The company was founded by John Tracy, Sr. in the late 1960's and incorporated in 1972.

We've sold our computer related products throughout this country and once furnished and installed a "state of the art" Access Floor in Egypt. Our primary territory is the Northeastern USA.
Born in 1925, John Tracy Sr., Jack, left college in 1943 to enlist in the United States Army Air Corps. As part of a B-24 bomber squadron, he flew 10 missions over Nazi held Europe during WWII.

Jack returned home after the war and attained his college degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. He married Mary Lynch Tracy and they had three children.

Jack started his own company while he was paying for those three kids to go to college. Apparently, the fear of failure was nonexistent to one who grew up in the depression and later flew combat missions over Nazi Germany.
For the next 10 years, DAPSCO moved with the needs of their customers by constantly diversifying their product lines.

In the 1970's, we sold everything from tab cards, magnetic tape disk packs and business forms to systems furniture and Access (raised) Flooring.

By the early 1980's, DAPSCO had streamlined the bulk of its sales volume into business forms and access flooring.

In 1980, Jack Tracy died at the tragically young age of 54.

Fortunately, with quality people like Carolyn Reiss and Ken Hawkins and Jack's son John Tracy Jr. in place, DAPSCO maintained business stability while suffering their personal loss.
By now, Access Flooring was beginning to become the main source of activity within DAPSCO, and installation labor was added to our services.
Good people make a good company and DAPSCO was able to bring in Ellen (Jack's daughter) Tracy, Paul Gros and Phyllis Sturges to keep things moving and growing.
Though much success came our way in the 80's and 90's, DAPSCO had to suffer another tragic loss when Paul Gros, Vice President, died in a car accident at the age of 31. We still miss him and his tremendous and caring personality, as do our customers who, after 7 years, still inquire about how his family is doing.

Once again, people stepped up and came with us. Tim Perusse built his own labor company, Trades Unlimited to handle our large installation contracts. Tim has had a hand in constructing almost all of our Access Floors since 1995.

Since 1985, Phyllis Sturges has been a multi-talented force in the office, balancing her notable business skills with her legendary sense of humor.

As President of Dapsco since 1980, John Tracy, Jr. has enlisted the professional help of many talented individuals, subcontractors, and manufacturers. Although separate, these companies continue to integrate and collaborate with Dapsco to ensure its vitality and growth.
